The challenge
Change Mental Health is one of the largest and most influential mental health charities in Scotland, providing crucial support to local communities and raising awareness across businesses and government.
The charity approached me with a need to elevate the look and feel of their new training offering and establish themselves as a trusted resource with new clients.
I designed a learning identity that was bold, friendly, and integrated easily with the rest of their brand. I created an illustration system, style guide, and templates that were both fresh and could set them up for success to expand upon with their limited creative resource.

I created a new symbol library and illustrative style, unified with their existing icon set through use of a custom brush. The custom brush was created from the shapes in the brand logo, which was the most prominent graphic device in use up to that point.
I designed the symbols and gesture lines to be simple and modular, so they could be mixed and matched endlessly to create new meaning.

Collage
Brand colours were used as an overlay as a simple way to unify photography from different sources. A collage mixed-media style with rough cut-outs and shape masks allows future facilitators to replicate the style in powerpoint without any design programs.
